Sharing artwork I’ve recently completed that makes me happy. I had lots of fun creating these. They’re just fun paintings. The process for me is what makes it fun. Then, every time I look at one, I remember the feeling I had making it. It’s such a great time getting lost in creating! Like the one says, “Let go and be free...”. Both of these started as blank white canvases.<br />
I drew an umbrella onto paper, cut it out and taped it onto the canvas, then painted around it with black. I let that dry then had fun with puffy paint! I outlined, filled in, and wrote the saying all in puffy paints. I hadn’t used puffy paints in years so it brought back some memories! Mainly making T-shirt’s in Jr.High! K like how this turned out. I love the black background to make the shiny puffy paint pop!<br />
For the other work of Art, I used a tacky spray adhesive, and sprinkled sand all over the canvas, and coated that with clear gloss sealer. Then I used about 6 different shades of blues, greens, and purples, along with black and white, to create my floating landscape abstract expression. I love the texture and I just stare at it for a while sometimes, lost in the wild blue yonder!<br />
Enjoy... until next time!RobynsNestof5http://www.blogger.com/profile/04660719925327308882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3798567490857206367.post-38400563786440118402019-03-27T20:45:00.000-07:002019-03-30T09:17:47.783-07:00the.Search.comHey there, I’m back just sharing some stuff from life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It’s been a while but I’m missing this creative outlet. <br />
<div>
So today I’m sharing a poem I wrote. Most people who know me don’t really know that I wrote poems. I mean, I don’t go around speaking in poems or anything and after I write them, they’re just hidden away in a cabinet or filed away on the notes of my phone. I come from a long line of poem writers- well, at least I know my Meme (my mom’s mom), and my dad, wrote poems. I am guessing they’re not the first ones from either side of my family to write poems, but they’re the 2 I know of. </div>
<div>
I have a few of theirs. Meme has a journal of her poems, and my dad has papers here and there and letters with poems. It’s in my blood.</div>
<div>
So I thought why not share them. Some are serious, some are funny, some are just random thoughts. Enjoy!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the Life! Yall there's so much to be thankful for and that's what I was thinking about when I painted the above. This is one of the series I painted during my recovery from reconstructive surgery following chemotherapy for breast cancer. I just got a baking metal pan and put it on my lap in my recliner, with a cup of water and some watercolor paints. It was so freeing, so relaxing and just therapeutic of course!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would encourage anyone who is undergoing some type of recovery, to get a hobby that you love or one you have been curious about and have someone help you get the materials you need to have ready for when you come home. For me, I already had the materials, but I just tweaked the place, from a table top to a metal pan that sat on my lap, and a little side table next to me to hold some more materials.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuzVjoRvXlCsRBpLaNnE8f53zzPbnI3KikSAIFjkPfudFhq4IWHrguXLL164-leCqItZ9uUftFssGa8hi59ODcEutzzi2gKE7cNGVN7vJVvuyapepK4FBxf4-MUkft0aIcfIh252FFiSyA/s1600/IMG_4380.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuzVjoRvXlCsRBpLaNnE8f53zzPbnI3KikSAIFjkPfudFhq4IWHrguXLL164-leCqItZ9uUftFssGa8hi59ODcEutzzi2gKE7cNGVN7vJVvuyapepK4FBxf4-MUkft0aIcfIh252FFiSyA/s320/IMG_4380.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was another painting I completed after I was able to get up and about again. Three canvas panels for the living room. They ended up being changed several times, but that's what I usually do. For some reason I just can't quite settle on some of them so I paint and start over.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you have taken a little inspiration from these. I love life and love the beach- and love to create masterpieces! Until next time- enjoy the little things!</div>

<div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Dear daughters, here's a few things you need to know...</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>(random ramblings for you, daughters)</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>(originally written April 2, 2016)</b></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>you are loved beyond beyond. Even though you will go through times where you don't feel so, because, well... this life throws things at us like that sometimes... just remember... you certainly are. I love you. I love you because you are mine. You are a gift from God. YOU are part of ME. no matter what phase of life we are in, it is the BEST one yet, because I get another day to do this life with you! It means God is blessing us with each other. On this day, we had fun! </b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>remember: </b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>One day Daddy had to borrow our minivan to cart tennis kids around...and we were stuck with his truck. You remember that day... I'll just throw a few reminders out there: Chick-fil-A, chicken minis! Remember how they stop serving breakfast at 10:30, and we were watching the clock as we waited in line after rushing to get there. It was 10:28 when we ordered. Phew! Just in the nick of time... and remember where Kaci was (shhhh).</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Remember picking out socks and other things on that aisle...? It was a fun day. Just because we were together, doing whatever and enjoying each other. Remember dyeing eggs every color of the rainbow every morning of spring break.... Remember catching all the cooking shows! Remember trying things to cook together... Remember starting a fire, from trying to make Pioneer Woman's toasted crackers! (we may not try that one again).... anyway. </b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Remember the nights of trading off kids getting to fix mama's hair while I read Anne of Green Gables to yall? can't wait to start our next book at night! </b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>As I have said before, it's the little things that matter. One day we'll look back and remember the good times. </b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>These are the good old days, the best days of my life, when I get to see you all smile. Remember....You are loved. Life may get hard sometimes for you, but look ahead and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Look at today, and think of tiny things that can make you smile. and Dear Future Daughter, call me, come see me, know that I'm still here for you to share a little moment with. I love you, yesterday, today, and forever and ever! It may be years in the future, and you may be much older reading this, but you are still my baby of Yesterday. You are still my daughter. You may outgrow your clothes. You may grow in wisdom. You may move on and far away. BUT. You will never get too big, too smart, too far, for me to LOVE. You are my gift from God!</b></span></div>

My Homemade Chai Tea Latte!!!<br />I love Starbucks, but when I can't get there or just want to enjoy my favs at home, I recreate them. One of my favorite drinks there is the Chai Tea Latte! Here's how I make it: <br />Ingredients: <br />1 cup water<br />Stash Chai Spice Black Tea<br />1-2 TBSP sugar (I know, bad...but so good)<br />1-2 TBSP heavy whipping cream<br />1/4-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon <br /><br />So you give or take where you like- I go all the way with it- if I have one of these I want it full force.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/20/163.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/20/s_163.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/20/164.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/20/s_164.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Boil water in a glass measuring cup (2 min. microwaves is good). <br />Pour boiling water over tea bag in your mug.<br />Let steep for about 3 min.<br />Add sugar and cinnamon, stir.<br />Add cream, stir.<br /><br />Sip and enjoy!<br /><br /><br /><br />2. Along the same lines, I also love Apple Cider Vinegar....to drink! Hi, I'm Robyn and I'm an ACV-aholic! I was reading Mix and Match Blog last week and I couldn't believe it was one of Shay's weird things. My kids go around asking people if they like Apple Cider Vinegar like me. Kamri and Kaci think it's really gross and stinks. Kylie actually likes it! It's supposed to be great for cleansing your digestive system. Also, My Meme drinks it when she gets muscle cramps and they go away! There are many wonderful attributes of ACV... Anyway, this is the way I prepare it:<br /><br />Heat 1 C water to boiling (I use the same glass measuring cup as I mentioned earlier. <br /><br />Add in 1 tbsp honey<br /><br />Add in 2 tbsp Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar<br /><br />Add in a splash of lemon juice or lemon oil.<br /><br /><br />Pour that mix into a tumbler to go with a straw, and add in 1 C water. This brings you to 16oz. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/22/116.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/22/s_116.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I drink at least one and sometimes 2 per day. The cold water mixed makes it more bearable to drink and not quite as hot as it started out. I have to drink it hot/warm not cold. The reason for boiling first is because the honey dissolves great in hot water. So yum, and good for you!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />3. It's so hot and I'm enjoying summer but...<br />Next up is one of my favorite gifts from last Christmas. Mamas just know what to get!<br /><a target="_blank" href="http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/70108912/">It's this scarf hanger from IKEA. I use the recipe from the Duggar family blog. I especially like it for Kylie, my little one because she has eczema and it doesn't irritate her skin. For her clothes I do a separate bucket and don't add in the essential oil. <br /><br />Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap<br />(Front or top load machine-best value)<br />Ingredients: <br /><br />4 Cups - hot tap water<br />1 Fels-Naptha soap bar*<br />1 Cup - Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda**<br />½ Cup Borax<br /><br />Directions: <br /><br />-Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.<br />-Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.<br />-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)<br />-Optional: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.<br />-Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons.<br /><br />Use 1/2 to 1Cup depending on size of load.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />RobynsNestof5http://www.blogger.com/profile/04660719925327308882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3798567490857206367.post-41372592131900075762015-07-21T03:00:00.000-07:002015-07-21T03:56:14.146-07:00Funny BusinessSo I had a moms night out last night and we cracked up, as usual! This is just a cozy little time with friends learning a little more about God's word, kid style...acting out stories and puppet shows and crafts. It's basically an abbreviated VBS. <br /><br />We've been helping (or having fun) moving stuff around at Memaw's new house. Such a nice place and an open floor plan for us all to be able to visit and drink coffee and such ;) i don't know about you, but for me, there's no place like moms! No matter where she lives it would always be a comfort zone. A place of peace and refuge from anything life throws your way. She makes the home. The home doesn't make her. She's always ready to give up her time to sit, drink coffee, chat, and listen....and no matter what, we always bust a gut at some point. We just like to laugh and totally 'get' each other- like read minds, lol! I sure hope my girls always come back to me like that when they're grown. We have such a special bond! <br /><br />Took the girls to the new minion movie....it wasn't my favorite. I just thought the previous ones were much more funny for the kids. This one was a little more harsh and I can't even remember one part that I totally cracked up at. But a few of the girls seemed to like it ok- I think they just all agreed with each other because I've seen them way more excited coming out of other movies. Like Escape From Planet Earth, one of their favorites.<br />Anyway, we were going to go to chick fil a after but it was that crazy "dress like a cow day" and it was packed.... So we went to the less desirable, yet still fun place to play, McDonald's.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/14/159.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/14/s_159.jpg' border='0' width='1199' height='1600' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We sort of needed to be out of the house this week to give pat some peace and quiet to study. He took his test on Friday. <br />We spent the week literally either at Memaw's doing odds and ends, or shopping... <br /><br />We also had a cute little birthday party to attend at the American Girl Store. The girls had fun and added several things to their wish list. But I said it was like having 10 kids with me instead of 5! Those American Girl dolls are like little people, only babies you have to take great care of! We almost had a full on meltdown before we even got on the road for over an hour. We first had to make sure everyone had their doll, had her fully dressed and hair fixed. Then we couldn't find one of the dolls ballet shoes she was supposed to wear! Oh my word, we searched all over the place! Finally found it and left 30 min later than I planned! <br />When we got there, after parking further away than I'd like, we were trying to cross the street. Me and the "10" kids, one 6 year old who decides to wear those hard plastic Cinderella dress up shoes. Against my better judgement I let her. My fun mom voice spoke up in my head and won. Anyway, so we look both ways and a car stopped to let us go, or so I thought. But as we're crossing the street, she sped up! I shoed the children up with me and stared her down as she stopped abruptly, rolled down her window and said in a rather southern voice, "oh I'm sorry, I wan't gonna run over y'all!" Oh yeah ya coulda fooled me! Anyway after we walked on, all the girls could not stop laughin' about that lady and her craziness! <br />So we sat down and had a nice tea party. We had a few laughs about the star-shaped sandwiches which we're quite sure no kid would like. But we loved everything else!<br />After it was over we walked through the store and eventually I needed a Starbucks before we left to go home. The kind lady said it was just down the way. Well kind lady, when you have 5 tired kids, 1 in plastic dress up shoes with her toes scrunched up and aching with blisters, 5 American Girl dolls that need someone to hold them, and 1 beat mama...my definition of "just down the way" is not quite the same as yours. Anyway, we made it there! I got my coffee and the kids all got a drink... So now we had the task of walking all the way back down the way we came! Only this time, instead of only extra dolls to carry, I also had the hand of the girl in the Cinderella slippers, 2 or 3 dolls, my chai tea latte balancing a chocolate shake on top of it, and a big mama purse I should have cleaned out months ago!<br />We laughed all the way out from delirium. <br />We got to the sauna, I mean car, buckled up, took a deep breath and headed back into the rat race trying to get home. Overall it was a really fun day!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/18/92.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/18/s_92.jpg' border='0' width='960' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />It was really a rather uneventful week overall, but busy nonetheless. Kylie's last pair of good glasses broke, so she's back in her old ones with the old rx, which means I had to go buy new ones- no fun, and the lady working obviously needed a day off- and I'll leave it at that :)<br /><br />I found a few great deals this weekend: <br />Palais Royal has a deal you bring in any gently used clothing and get a $10 coupon. How about decluttering and donating several things. Then you have $10 to use there. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/18/297.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/18/s_297.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I found these 3 books at Target Dollar Spot! The girls have seen the "Little Women" series on the Smile of a Child Network so they have a little background for these Junior books. I'm reading these to them at night before bed, alternating with our Bible Reading Club.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/18/298.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/18/s_298.jpg' border='0' width='1199' height='1600' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />A little game of Wahoo, with Pat before he started his studies again! His very own hand-carved, wood burned and painted wahoo board. He even made his own wood dice to coordinate the matching marbles. Ain't that boy somethin'!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/18/299.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/18/s_299.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Just some more Crazy Sand fun! We did this craft at Bible Power Zone this week and the kids really liked it:<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/16/256.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/16/s_256.jpg' border='0' width='719' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Top copy<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/16/257.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/16/s_257.jpg' border='0' width='719' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Bottom copy stapled with only the heart for them to color in.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/16/258.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/16/s_258.jpg' border='0' width='719' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/16/259.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/16/s_259.jpg' border='0' width='719' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Lay the top copy that's not colored in back on top of the one you colored in- make sure the hearts line up- then paint oil on the top heart. The colors start to show thru and the kids love that aspect. Pretty cool!<br /><br />2.my crazies decided teasing would be fun!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/16/260.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/16/s_260.jpg' border='0' width='719' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />3. Great for leftover anything because you can just pop the lid off and reheat in the dish.<br /><br />5. I just discovered you can have collaborators on your Pinterest boards. I was invited to pin for Coffee Recipes and then I created one for others to pin to: Simple Meals, because we all could use more Simple Meal ideas, right?<br />You can see those boards @robynmarrie on Pinterest.<br /><br /><br />7. goodreads! I knew about this a ing time ago, but just rediscovered it and love it! Sort of like a mini book club without discussions but you can rate them and then follow and see book recommendations from friends. I like that when I see one I want to read I can mark it to remember for later! Check it out!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/16/276.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/16/s_276.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/16/277.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/16/s_277.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /> <br /><br />6.Blogs you may have missed from the week:<br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://robynsnestof5.blogspot.com/2015/07/weekly-wrapup_13.html?m=1">Last weeks weekly WrapUp </a><br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://robynsnestof5.blogspot.com/2015/07/follow-me-with-bloglovin.html?m=1">I joined BlogLovin! Well guess what, it's time to declutter again! I have 2 girls who love to play and hate to clean up! It seriously takes them about 5 minutes or less to make this mess. I am trying to get them under control but it ain't happening! What usually happens is the oldest one who hasn't played with any of it, can't stand the mess, so she rips through there like a bandit and cleans up her sisters messes. Well while that's very kind of her, I don't think it's helping to teach the littles to clean up. They have got to have less to start with then it won't be so overwhelming!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/15/605.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/15/s_605.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I see their kitchen is open for business- I think I'll grab a bite and chew on it a while...<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/15/606.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/15/s_606.jpg' border='0' width='1600' height='1600' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Hmmm... Memories, huh?! I think I better get rid of some more things so they can really enjoy a few treasures in here. <br />This doesn't happen overnight. Accumulating so many toys. I thought my kids would never have 'too many toys' like some spoiled brats! Be ware ;) Never say never. I've said never before. "I'll never drive a minivan"... Guess what? I love my minivan now! <br />"I'll never let this new clean house get cluttered up"... Ate my words there plenty!<br />"I'll never let my kids have___" be careful - they'll probably get it ;)<br />"Life will be so much better when I make our computer room into a playroom for the girls".... Hmmm, not so much. Well yes, it's nicer that the mess is in here but I'm not gonna lie and say these things don't walk right out of this room! No sirry!<br />I'll never get angry at my children's messes: well let's just say I may have said this a time or 2:<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/16/53.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/16/s_53.jpg' border='0' width='960' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br />Bahahahahaha!<br /><br />Anyway, just wanted to keep it real here. We all have our mess somewhere. Now, guess I better get to decluttering!<br />Hopefully I can share a newly refreshed playroom soon.<br />I'm not making promises though. I'll never say never and I'll never make a promise - I may not be able to keep.;)<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/15/607.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/15/s_607.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />This is one treasure I'm keeping!The girls and I have had so much fun with these! Mad Libs I found at Old Navy.... I mean the tooth fairy found at Old Navy, and delivered under the pillow ;). <br /><br />And lest I grow weary of the children and their mess:<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/15/614.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/15/s_614.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/15/615.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/15/s_615.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/15/613.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/15/s_613.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />RobynsNestof5http://www.blogger.com/profile/04660719925327308882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3798567490857206367.post-27188175364165590472015-07-15T06:40:00.000-07:002015-07-15T07:12:29.995-07:00Somebody's Better Than You<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/14/312.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/14/s_312.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Dear Daughters,<br /><br />In this world of me, myself, and I...<br />you feel like you're on top of the world.<br />But then you have much farther to fall. When you fall. Because you will. There will always be somebody better than you, if you're trying to be the best. Don't measure your success by theirs. <br /> <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/14/313.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/14/s_313.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Please remember, you are special. Not because of anything you have or do. But because you were created in His image. He knew you before you were born. <br />You are special to Him, if no one else. <br />Please remember not to try to be THE best. There will always be someone better. Then you're left incomplete. Be YOUR best. There will never be a better YOU. You are unique. Surround yourself with people trying their best to be their best, not those trying to compete for the best. Those who want better for you, not who want to be better than you. <br />Humble yourself and you will be exalted. Don't want your rewards here. Look to heaven. The rewards are waiting there. When you look there, you find such peace here!<br />Peace within. Confidence not in yourself. Confidence in Him who created you. For without Him, nothing was made that has been made. Be confident in who you are only because of whose you are.<br />Dear daughter, you are enough. I love you for who you are. <br />Not what you can do. I find Joy, true Joy in Him, not in the compliments of others. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/14/314.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/14/s_314.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Now mind your manners if someone compliments you. Say "thank you". But don't put your eggs in that basket. They'll crack.<br /><br />Remember what my mom told me long ago and I'm telling you now...<br />"There will always be somebody better than you". So don't try to be them or better. Be you! That's enough!<br /><br />And lastly. Remember to laugh. We have a growing girl who's also very picky. And who gets cloister phobic in dressing rooms and stores with tight aisles! And honestly her mama is no different when it comes to those dressing rooms! So we love our time of sitting down to eat and chill before shopping again. Here we are at the end of our day:<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/08/775.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/08/s_775.jpg' border='0' width='960' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />LOL!<br /><br />Well we didn't find all we needed on day 1 shopping so we had to go back again. <br />This time we headed straight to Old Navy. We yelled and screamed with excitement!!! So much fun!<br />But being the mom of the year that I am, I forgot to bring the sunblock. Minor detail that may have been overlooked until we noticed lobster faces :/. Yikes! Later Kamri fell asleep out to eat at Tookies. Then right about bedtime she told me she felt bad and may throw up. I set a bucket beside her and it wasn't long and sure enough, she did. I think it definitely was a combination of heat exhaustion and riding the waves all day! The good thing is she made it all in the bucket and felt better after that!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/11/355.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/11/s_355.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/11/356.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/11/s_356.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />A little BIG bubble fun at the casa!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/11/357.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/11/s_357.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/11/358.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/11/s_358.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/11/359.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/11/s_359.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/11/360.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/11/s_360.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Some friends invited us to their Lakehouse and it was nothing short of a blast! I love talking with other moms and swapping stories and learning from them. <br />I can't wait to get my hands on the book Karen was reading, The Hiding Place- Youth Edition, and sharing it with Kamri! Half of my pictures and text disappeared when I posted this... Talk about slap in the face! Ain't nobody got time fo' dat! So some of the text may not make sense because the picture is missing, and vice versa. Anyway. Sharing what I have. I loved looking back at these memories!<br />
<br />
This is a short version of the story of our home living and changes over the past 15 years. Pat and I got married in June 2000. We lived in an apartment while looking for a house. In the process we found an acre of land and decided to buy it and build on it. We were both teachers and needed to start out small and add on later. We even went RV shopping to maybe live on the property while we built. But then Pat and my dad were talking and decided since my dad is a carpenter he and Pat could just build us a little house. Well... There's a lot of red tape to get thru when you want to build a house in League City, Texas. You have to have a company, which we didn't. So, that's when Adams-Marrie Construction was born. We like to joke and call it Adams-Marrie Destruction for fun!<br />
This was from an album of memories I created to Pat after we finished our house:<br />

Those two windows were our living room and computer room. Then one day became baby Kamri's room. Then finally were, after 6 years as planned, knocked out and became garage doors!<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
There was our first home!<br />
<br />
Lots of fun memories were made there!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/12/463.jpg"><img align="left" border="0" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/12/s_463.jpg" height="640" style="margin: 5px;" width="640" /></a><br />

<br />
Then the next phase started after being in the little home for 6 years. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/12/464.jpg"><img align="left" border="0" src="http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/12/s_464.jpg" height="640" style="margin: 5px;" width="640" /></a><br />

<br />
<br />
That empty land would soon be filled with dirt, concrete, wood and bricks! It was a fun playground for Kamri while it was being built.<br />
<br />
<br />
Hotdog lunch for the workers!<br />
<br />
<br />
One of the best parts of building into our own existing house is that we got to see every bit of it. Kamri could be playing next door or be down for a nap and I could see what was being built next.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Here's Kamris look of shock as she relaxed her big concert slab "play area" had a house framed up in it!<br />
<br />
Priceless!<br />

Regretted it. Went back and "she gone." Went to 3 different Targets and finally found her again! Love how she matches up with my bedding- my happy place!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/08/342.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/08/s_342.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And this little owl came home with me last summer. I love it! Pat doesn't hold back his opinions on me. When he first saw it he said it reminded him of Pepto Bismol, only a blue version (I say cotton candy blue:)...and that it looked like something a grandma would have sitting on the back of her toilet. So guess where I parked it??? You got it! Right on the back of our toilet. ;)<br />It has since made it's way all around to different spots in the house. It's current home is on my vanity, and it holds all the little samples of facial care and stuff you get when you buy other products. I like reaching in to try out new things once in a while.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/09/373.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/09/s_373.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />- And while I'm on a bit of a turquoise-ish kick, don't you just love this chair and side table above?! I used to have it this way, changed it to this cabinet and then decided I liked it back in the drawers better. I love drawers and pullouts. You can see everything and reach it easily. So here's our mess where we matched up lids and similar containers.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/07/297.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/07/s_297.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Then here it is in another drawer all nice and tidy!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/03/317.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/03/s_317.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Much better huh!<br /><br />Here's the top shelf of my lazy Susan corner cabinet, where I keep clear shoeboxes filled with strainers, colanders, ramekins, and measuring cups and spoons. That box with the measuring stuff gets pulled out many times a week by the kids. They use part of them for pretend when they're not using the playroom stuff. Real stuff is so much more fun!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/08/559.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/08/s_559.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I started labeling my spices a few years ago, with the dot labels, and I've loved this system. I like tinning better than them being in the shelf because they're easier to grab quickly. I keep 2 deep drawers of spices right next to my stove so they're easy to grab when I'm cooking. I keep them alphabetized - top drawer is A-M and bottom drawer is N-Z. This way I can find what I'm looking for quicker.<br />I usually buy the same brand of whatever spice it is I'm replacing so I just keep the same lid with the label already on it. If it's a different brand then I just make a new label. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/08/560.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/08/s_560.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And here's the cabinet we are into more than I'd like to be. And since we do have 3 kiddos and have to find meds, band aids, first aid stuff often, it's nice to know right where to go and which basket to pull out. The least used is the stomach remedy basket so I put it the highest. Then on the 2nd shelf I keep Adult Allergy and Kids Allergy baskets. And on the bottom I keep the Pain Relievers and First Aid baskets. It has been so nice to have all this cleaned out. All things expired get thrown away in a timely manner when everything isn't all jumbled up together.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/08/561.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/08/s_561.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='960' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Hey we're almost to the weekend y'all! Hopefully we won't need that medicine cabinet and I can keep those doors shut!<br /><br />Happy Thursday! :)<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />RobynsNestof5http://www.blogger.com/profile/04660719925327308882noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3798567490857206367.post-76085888184650581952015-07-08T07:05:00.001-07:002015-07-08T07:15:44.635-07:00Wednesday Wisdom: Galatians 1 thoughts <br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/08/234.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/08/s_234.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br />I'm doing a little studying and reading in Galatians so I thought I'd share some thoughts. <br />These are thoughts from Galatians, chapter 1.<br />This chapter reminds me of how easy it could be to be confused and turn to something different than the true gospel. Even if we don't think it could happen to us, we have to be continually encouraging one another in truth or it could happen to someone close to us. We have to be sure to use scripture to match up what someone is saying to what the Bible says about it. The way we know what God says is found in the scriptures He left for us, the Bible.<br /><br />We either follow Him or we don't. <br /><br />Verse 10 about trying to win the approval of men reminds me of 2 Timothy 4:3 "for the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."<br />The time has definitely come for that again.<br /><br />Just a little Wednesday Wisdom encouraging all of us that want to follow Christ, to do so in truth.<br />RobynsNestof5http://www.blogger.com/profile/04660719925327308882noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3798567490857206367.post-64503443752551662792015-07-07T05:00:00.000-07:002015-07-07T06:49:41.361-07:00Weekly WrapUp Here's some fun from our week! Inside Out was really emotional, LOL! ;). Seriously it was a very good movie. Even for adults! The way they were able to weave in all those emotions and memories into how they make up who we are, was brilliant. Anyone could relate to at least one thing in the movie. It was totally believable too...like now I'm picturing these little emotions running around in my brain or my kids. I reminded my daughter that JOY would much rather be in charge up there, when she was about to get angry at something. Ha! I guess I shouldn't use it too much but I sure did get a laugh out of it ;). It's also a great depiction of how God made us and gave us every emotion to use. We need to be able to express our emotions in various situations. If you haven't seen it, you should!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/29/679.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/29/s_679.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/29/681.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/29/s_681.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />A fun ride on the boat! <br />This was quite an adventure. Well the boat ride itself was relaxing and uneventful, but here's the deal... When we got in the boat a lady warned us to watch the kids around the pier because they had seen a 12 foot alligator there that morning!!! What?!?! So we were watching our step for sure!<br /><br />Then after we got on the boat Pat tells me the boat trailer busted. The rails rusted off completely so there was no way to pull the boat back in. Soooo, we had to call up some friends that live on the water. Scott and Kristy let us pull the boat up to their place for a while. The kids road there with pat while I drive the car there to pick them up. Well. You know what happens when you get 5 kids together at almost bed time! They start playing and pulling out all the toys. I kept saying we needed to go because we pretty much barged in on them, but somehow we just couldn't get out the door. <br />In a little while we heard Jack say Kylie had tee-tee'd in her pants. There she was in the bathroom with a humongous puddle below her feet! All over the floor! On part of the rug. Running behind the toilet! Ugh! Something else crazy to add to our night! So I cleaned it up as much as I could and she wore a big old blue pull-up home! Lol! First we borrow their pier, then we play with all their toys, keeping them up past bedtime, then tee-tee all over their bathroom....<br />Then head for the door! Lol! They were so kind! :)<br /><br /> <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/29/791.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/29/s_791.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />To end off a fun adventurous night on the boat, we rented Daddy Daycare! They fell asleep pretty quickly, but I stayed up and finished it. I had never seen it and it cracked me up! I was laughing out loud!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/28/356.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/28/s_356.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />I peeked around the corner the next day and saw this!<br />Little sisters getting a lesson in braiding hair, by Kamri. An absolute favorite of my whole week!<br />McKenna was such a good sport letting them fool with her hair all afternoon! <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/28/357.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/28/s_357.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br />Kaci's first braid!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/299.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_299.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And check out my Loop Waterfall! Kamri just looked online and and baam! There I was 5 minutes later with a very pretty hairstyle! I wish I could say I taught her all she knows about hair, but I can't do even close to what she can. She's been doing her own hair for a long time! <br /><br /><br /><br />Among all this weeks fun with the kids, I managed to get back on the workout wagon...again, yes. <br />Yay! It feels so good. I'm doing <a target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/Brazil-Butt-Lift-DVD-Workout/dp/B00337MOMO">The Brazíl Butt Lift</a> and let me tell ya, it's a great workout! I like that it's got cardio, toning, and all. You even get to dance a little...one of my favorite things to do!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />So... back to the boat saga. We had to get the boat out of the water, so my handyman got to work! 2 full days of sawing things off and replacing everything! Even cutting his boards at angles and covering them with indoor/outdoor carpet for the boat to slide upon. Pretty impressive huh?! Yeah, I'd say he is quite the handyman, considering he and my dad built our first house, which is actually our garage now. Sharing that story soon. Anywho- very crafty, that boy!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/04/369.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/04/s_369.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/04/370.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/04/s_370.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/04/371.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/04/s_371.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />And here we are happily on the water again! It was the best time we've had as a family so far this summer! Pat and I got a kick out if the girls squealing an screaming on the water being pulled in the float rides! Mama may have been squealing and screaming like a big kid too! We sang and chanted and had big fun! I was taken back to my childhood- that's how I grew up! Having crazy fun on the water! <br />My PawPaw would get a kick out of circling back over his own waves and trying to knock us of our skis! We're much gentler on our kids right now, but just give em a few years! They've for another thing comin! ;)<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/300.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_300.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/301.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_301.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/302.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_302.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/303.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_303.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We just couldn't get enough of the water, so we went in just long enough to gas up an grab supper, and went back out! In and out in and out! Laundry just seems to get on overload especially during the summer. <br />It's because I'm spending all my time taking kids somewhere or swimming, riding bikes, and stuff that just keeps us busy. So since I can't be 2 places at once, and I'm not in the laundry room... And we're all still clothed everyday (you're welcome;)... Dirty laundry piles up! Typically when we're busy like this, and it's on overload, I take one day off from going anywhere, make the kids entertain themselves (I know, so mean ;), and knock it all out. And start over fresh- I love that feeling!<br />They were lucky this time though, because memaw was over and played diner with them in the playroom, while I was laundering. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/467.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_467.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='200' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/468.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_468.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='200' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/433.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_433.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br />I got busy snapping my fingers! ;)<br />I mean folding... <br />I do have a nice view though. I can look out the window and watch cars pass, some birds on wires, and I can see these and remember my girls when they were newborn, 2, and 6. Wow how time flies! 4 years in a little growing body can make a lot of difference!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/434.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_434.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='200' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />So here's how my laundry is sorted and done.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/458.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_458.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br />1. I have 5 of these baskets. I keep 2 in the laundry room. One for lights and one for darks. I keep one in the girls bathroom for all their dirty clothes. They throw them in there. I keep one in my vanity closet and one in my husbands vanity closet. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/459.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_459.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br />Then I also keep those 2 big 5 gallon buckets. One is for soiled towels, sheets, and gross things that don't need to be mixed with the other laundry. As a side note, these work really well for vomitting too.<br />Anywho.<br />When I bring the baskets from the bathrooms to the laundry room I sort them into these baskets for darks and lights and wash everyone's clothes together. I used to wash only one persons clothes at a time, but I found this way to be more efficient for me. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/460.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_460.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br />After I wash all the clothes I set out everyone's clean laundry baskets, and just sort them into the right basket as I'm folding. The clean laundry baskets are great. They're mesh and have handles for easy carrying.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/461.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_461.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br />They can also lay flat <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/05/462.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/05/s_462.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br />Or fold for storing in a smaller space after finishing the laundry. I just gave them index cards and let them decorate their own tags for them. As much as if like to say it helps them WANT to put up their own clothes, nah...not so much. But it does help sort while I'm folding and get everyone's clothes to the right spot.<br /><br />Even though it can seem overwhelming staring at the laundry and thinking it will never end, I am thankful for the blessing of family and that I do have laundry to do. It's always easier to be thankful for it in hindsight, but I try to remember that before I get started too! "The best days end in dirty clothes!"<br /><br />So that's how I roll with the laundry in this nest of 5. <br /><br />How about you?<br /><br />Posted using BlogPress <br /><br /><br />RobynsNestof5http://www.blogger.com/profile/04660719925327308882noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3798567490857206367.post-76965577736653452512015-07-03T05:00:00.000-07:002015-07-03T05:29:00.317-07:00Friday Favs!Linking up for a short sweet post of Friday favorites today!<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/03/54.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/03/s_54.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br />To start off: happy 4th weekend, y'all! So that's why I need to pack 6 years of clothes into this closet. I save a lot of money by saving a lot of clothes! Right now my girls are in sizes 4 through 14. 2 girls share this room and their sizes are from 4 to 6, so I have their current clothes hanging and in the drawers, then in the top in bags are sizes 5, 6, 7-8, 8-10. In the other room are sizes 10-14. It's the same type of set up in both rooms...bags on the top shelf of the closet.<br />Every time I see something that's too small for one of the older ones, <br />provided it's in good condition and I think it will be ok to wear in a few years still, I stick it in the appropriately marked bag. Then when one of them is ready for a new size up, I get the bag down. They love it. I make it like shopping for the little ones! They rummage thru the bag ooh-aahing over their new outfits! Then I wash the load and get busy restocking the closet! It's simple. It's effective. It's cheap. Then I evaluate what they may need that wasn't in the bag, (a shirt to match a pair of shorts we kept, a skirt to go with a nice shirt that was in the bag, etc.),and make a little list. Then when we go shopping I know what they need and don't overspend on clothes or shoes.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/27/144.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/27/s_144.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/27/145.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/27/s_145.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/27/146.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/27/s_146.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />I like to use <a target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/Ziploc-Double-Zipper-X-Large-4-Count/dp/B003U6A3EY">these Ziplock see thru bags.</a>. <br /><a target="_blank" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BEBXH5O/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1435844894&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&keywords=space+bags&dpPl=1&dpID=41rP82TRKEL&ref=plSrch">Or these.</a><br /><br />I used to have a box for each size, but these bags save a lot of room. If I run out of room in the closet, I can stick them under beds. I sit on them and push all the air out ;). It happened last week, but it started many months before with our leaders preparing- Getting the theme, the scripture references, words of the days, etc. nailed down. Then the teachers, decorators, P.E., crafts, puppet shows, and skit people get to work coming up with their lessons based on what our leaders give us to work with. It's so much work and dedication and it's so rewarding to see it all unfold!!!<br />We really go all out with it!<br />So here are some pictures from the week. I didn't get to take many because I was teaching 2nd thru 4th grade. I only know about all the awesomeness that happened around the building because of what I heard from my kids! They love it!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/26/156.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/26/s_156.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='225' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Singing<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/26/157.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/26/s_157.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/26/158.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/26/s_158.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/29/503.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/29/s_503.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Face paint fun!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/26/159.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/26/s_159.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Bounce house fun!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/26/162.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/26/s_162.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/26/163.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/26/s_163.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Our fam!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/26/155.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/26/s_155.jpg' border='0' width='224' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Captain Johnny Silver, Pixie, and Coco<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/26/153.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/26/s_153.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='132' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/07/06/284.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/07/06/s_284.jpg' border='0' width='200' height='300' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br />Mama birds taking a quick photo break 😄. <br /><br />In the skits, The crew was searching for treasure each day and the Wise seafarer came upon them each time with words of wisdom. They didn't fully understand but eventually trusted him. They were still focused in and finally found treasure of gold but it was taken by Captain Crook and his crew...and he was going to make them walk the plank! But alas, the wise seafarer paid their debt. They received message that he had given his life and saved theirs! The received the keys to his kingdom and when they met up with the King, it was Jesus and they realized the wise sea farer was Jesus all along! It was powerful! <br /><br />After the skit each day, the kids sit off to go to their class rotations and dig deeper about the stories, theme words, play games, sing songs, and do crafts to go along with each lesson! Such a great group of kids! <br />Here are some of the crafts my 3 came home with:<br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/27/105.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/27/s_105.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />They braided their own handles and duck-taped them on their bag.<br />I think Kamri may have helped a few kids with her braiding skills ;)<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/27/107.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/27/s_107.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/27/109.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/27/s_109.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />Do you see JESUS in the 2 optical illusions above? <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/29/782.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/29/s_782.jpg' border='0' width='640' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><br />A little fun for you here: stare at the 4 tiny dots in the center for about 30-40 seconds then immediately stare at a blank space on the wall. I'd love to see yours!<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/25/316.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/25/s_316.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='266' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br />So funny and so true. I love Pinterest. It's so neat to be able to see all these new ideas, save some of my own so I have a place to go back and recall, and share some. However, I do have to say, I have never wanted to redo so many things in my house before Pinterest! Paint choices are calling my name! Like this beautiful entryway below! Found it on Pinterest!<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/25/317.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/25/s_317.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='450' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://stripedpeony.com/portfolio-item/the-bradshaw-home/">Source</a><br />I mean. One of the actors, Captain Crook, was so good- he was just like Captain Jack Sparrow. My girls wanted to see who he was so I found this picture along with some fun video footage from the movies! Funny, I forgot how much I liked old Jack Sparrow too... So he's making a comeback on my Friday favorites list!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/25/329.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/25/s_329.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='450' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br />Even in the summer, I love me some Creme Brûlée! Especially this one my friend brought back from Waco's Junk in the Trunk!<br /><br /><br />And last but not least: my favorite quote of the week, which happened right after I took this picture and turned to walk out of the room:<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=15/06/25/327.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/15/06/25/s_327.jpg' border='0' width='426' height='640' align='left' style='margin:5px'></a><br /><br />Kaci: "mom she bit me"<br />Kylie: "I didn't bite!"<br />Me: "well Kylie, don't you even put your teeth on her."<br />Kylie: "I didn't. How could I not crack up at that one?!<br /><br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://www.tabanderika.blogspot.com/2015/06/friday-favorites_26.html?m=1">Happy Friday </a>and have a great weekend!<br /><br />Check back next week for a VBS recap!<br /><br /><br /><br />RobynsNestof5http://www.blogger.com/profile/04660719925327308882noreply@blogger.com0
